Austraffic is the industry leader in traffic & transport studies
Austraffic is seeking staff to join our small team and be part of the next growth phase
You will be working primarily between 9am-2:30pm, five days a week during school terms and so will best suit a parent returning to the work force.
Who we are:
Established nationally in 1983, Austraffic is the industry leader in traffic and transport studies.
The WA office was established in 2009 and is responsible for assisting local councils, Main Roads WA, Department of Transport and engineering firms with their data collection needs.
What the work is:
The position consists of two parts: field work and your area of experience.
The field work is the installation, monitoring and retrieval of traffic counting devices. These devices are either a counter sitting on the side of the road attached to two black rubber road tubes, or a camera mounted about 2.5m high on existing street furniture.
Field work is done mainly in the Perth metropolitan area (Mandurah to Yanchep) with occasional work in Regional WA
Outside of field workdays you are working in your area of experience under the direction of the WA Principal to further the aims & goals of the business.
We are looking for someone with experience in one of the following areas:
· Equipment Development & Maintenance
· Marketing & Customer Relations
· Project Management & Scheduling
· Data Reporting & Analyst
In addition, the best fit for our team will have the following skills & attitudes:
· Attention to detail
· Be very efficient
· Have a current WA driver’s licence
· Able to work hard with focus
· Willing to get hands dirty
· Work in all types of weather
· A basic level of proficiency using tools & ladders
You should expect to work at least two out of five days each week in the field, however this changes throughout the year; some weeks will require all hands-on deck with everyone doing full-time field work, other times only a skeleton crew will be needed for field work.
Who you are:
The ideal person to join our team will be someone wanting to get back into the work force, to learn new skills, to be challenged, and to make a difference.
How to get started:
To apply for this, please email Russell at [email protected] with details of your experience and how you would best fit our small team. Please include some details about yourself personally, including what your family life is like and your favourite holiday. Applicants who we think would be a good fit will be contacted via phone for a chat, followed by a (paid) trial field day.
